Clampdown

I think that the song is about the Holocaust. I think this because in the song there is a point where they are wondering if a man was a jew. This would only matter to the Nazi German's. Also, in the song it says they are creating "young believers". This can be compared to the Hitler Youth. Hitler and his armies used propaganda to persuade young people to follow in their cause. This also is an example of propoganda in the song. Propaganda is used to get people to agree with you message and in the song it says they convince them into being young believers.

  1. This argument is a bit tenuous considering there are no other references to back up your point, and the conclusion you are drawing is based solely off of what you think of when he says "young believers." Be careful of imposing your personal biases on the text. Work with what is in front of you.
