JFK speech
In the beginning of the speech, he proclaims that he has made the same oath before God that all presidents have before him. This is an appeal to tradition because he is saying he is doing the same thing that all o the previous presidents prior to him have done. Also, it is an appeal to Religion because he is saying he is a man that believes in God by going out of his way to mention that he is making an appeal to God, not us, but God. This is an appeal that works because it is true and because it is an appeal to tradition and religion, people get behind it.
